The basis of the hair shaft (78%) is keratin - a protein built from amino acids. The chemical composition of a healthy structure also includes up to 15% water, 6% lipids, 1% pigment.
Dandruff, hair loss and dull appearance of hair signal a deficiency of zinc in the body. Its lack can be caused by poor nutrition, being in a stressful state, since it is this microelement that is responsible for the synthesis of the stress hormone. Its loss threatens with a serious disease - alopecia - partial or complete baldness.
Zinc directly affects the absorption of proteins, normalizes the production of sebum and takes part in the formation of the hair structure. In total, the human body contains from 1.5 to 3 g of this trace element. It is part of the enzymes that ensure metabolic processes and the proper functioning of internal organs, takes part in the synthesis of sex hormones that affect the density of the hairline, promotes the rapid healing of skin lesions, and strengthens the body's defenses.
The body can get it in many ways: from vitamins, shampoos and food.
For the prevention of trace elements should be eaten:
- mussels, oysters, shrimps;
- germinated wheat;
- bran;
- red meat;
- peas and lentils;
- hard cheeses;
- chicken eggs;
- milk;
- nuts, especially hazelnuts;
- sardines.
