Plasma therapy

Magic blood in vitro or plasma therapy is an injection method of introducing blood plasma with platelets into the problem area.

Plasma therapy is widely used in medicine, it is used for treatment in all areas: cosmetology, trichology, treatment of joints, diseases of ENT organs, dentistry and others.

In trichology, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is used. It saturates the skin and hair follicles with a large number of platelets with growth factors.

Plasma therapy regenerates, moisturizes, reduces sebum production and stimulates hair growth.

How it works

It's all about platelets, which, when they enter the skin, are activated and release a large number of growth factors:

  • epidermal (EGF);
  • vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF);
  • platelet factor (PDGF);
  • fibroblast growth factor (FGF);
  • transforming growth factors beta (TGF-β).

Platelets and their growth factors have a great influence on cells and the environment. They stimulate cell division, improve blood circulation of hair follicles and improve metabolism.

What problems does it solve

  1. Hair loss in androgenetic, diffuse and focal alopecia
  2. Treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff
  3. Increased greasiness and dryness of the scalp
  4. Deterioration in hair quality
  5. It is a preparation for hair transplantation and rehabilitation after it
  6. Stimulates hair growth in complex therapy for cicatricial alopecia
Before the procedure, it is necessary to pass a clinical blood test and blood for deficiencies and infections (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis). If deviations are detected in the analyzes, the procedure cannot be carried out.

How is plasma therapy performed?

Prior to the procedure, fatty, spicy, salty foods and alcoholic beverages must be excluded 12 hours before the procedure. It is advisable to carry out the procedure 3-4 hours after taking a light meal and drink plenty of fluids.

During the procedure itself, blood is taken, which is determined by the doctor (on average 9-18 ml). Next comes the stage of centrifugation of test tubes with blood and obtaining plasma saturated with platelets, which will be injected into the scalp. The method, plasma volume and number of procedures depend on the type of disease and are determined by the doctor after consultation.

Plasma therapy has a number of contraindications:

  • Use of anticoagulants or allergy to them
  • Taking corticosteroids and immunosuppressants
  • Previous acute illness with fever (less than 2 weeks before the procedure)
  • Oncological diseases
  • Systemic autoimmune diseases
  • Diffuse toxic goiter, diabetes mellitus
  • Chronic diseases in the stage of decompensation
  • Pregnancy and lactation
Recommendations after the procedure are quite simple: do not wash your hair for a day after the procedure, do not visit baths, swimming pools, saunas and a solarium for 5-7 days, protect your head from exposure to cold and direct sunlight, refrain from using scrubs and strong peelings for a period course of plasma therapy.

Plasma therapy has also become widespread in hair transplantation. It is used not only before and after transplantation, but also during it. Hair grafts are dipped in plasma to increase their survival in the scalp and for rapid regeneration after surgery.
